Microcephaly cases increased in 2016

The Center for Disease Control and Prevention reported a increase of microcephaly and other nervous system defects in infants and fetuses in 2016. Comparing the baseline of 1.50 per 1000 in 2013 to 2014, the findings were 20 times higher than the same birth defects in the pre-Zika years (58.5 per 1000).
